Wine Chemistry Workshop

Held April 18-19 at Redlands Community College in El Reno, the workshop includes hands-on analyses of wines including alcohol content, various acid levels, sugar content under direct supervision in the chemistry lab. Course is taught by Dr. Barry Gump.

Dr. Barry Gump has more than 30 years of experience in developing and teaching the techniques of wine analysis. Earning his B.S. in Chemistry at Ohio State University and his Ph.D. in Analytical  Chemistry at the University of California, Dr. Gump is a Co-Principle Investigator and Enology Coordinator for The Viticulture Enology Science and Technology Alliance (VESTA), a national grape and wine education program. Gump is the Harvey R. Chaplin Eminent Scholar's Chair in Beverage management at Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
